The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) has invited 842 people from the industry to be part of this organization, wich is responsible of granting the Oscars annually. The people invited come from 59 different countries, being 16 of the members invited mexican. One of the invited mexicans that stand out is the cinephotographer Diego García.
Diego García was nominated to this year’s 61st Ariel Award for Best Photography in a feature film for the movie Our Time, directed by Carlos Reygadas. García has more an 29 credits as a photographer for different national and international projects, such as Cementery of Splendor by Apichatpong Weerasethauki, and the nominated mexican film Our Time.
If he accepts de Academy’s invitation, he will be participating alongside other 9 thousand filmmakers to decide who will take home the most longed for award in the cinematic industry.
